Our young guide perched herself on the railing and told us wonderful tales of when it was in full swing. There were over 800 people living here in little boxes. Natives, Chinese, Japanese and Europeans and they worked nonstop during the salmon run canning 60lbs per minute. Only mode of transport was by sea until the railroad came by in the 50's?
She is from Kitimat and her dad is a fisherman.
